Adapting via Firmware upload an Annex A modem to Annex B

Hello everyone!

I am in Germany and I would like to replace my German modem router (annex B) with one of the following modems (annex A):

1. Netgear N300 Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router DGN2200v3 and

2. Netgear DG834G v5 ADSL2+.

After connecting the DGN2200v3 to the telephone network via an adapter, I tried to load the german firmware onto the modem, but it doesn't work.

Can someone please tell me if it is possible to reprogram one of the two modems so that it works with the German telephone network (annex B)?

Thank you in advance,

Caesar

P.S.:

I apologize in advance if my help request is in the wrong place.

WPS need due to wireless cable boxes

$

Hello Community, this is my first post here.  I recently changed my R8000 firmware to Tomato so that my TDS cable would work properly.  When I swapped my Actiontec Router to the Netgear R8000, it wouldn't properly switch from the 10seconds of unicast packets to multicast packets.  It would work, but the delay was a solid 35 seconds.  With the new firmware, it works just like the Actiontec with an seemless switch over.

Here is my issue:My DVR is networked, but the cable boxes are wireless in my bedrooms.  The ONLY way to connect them to the network is through WPS.  Basically, when the box boots up, it says "press ok to connect to wireless" and it goes out checking for WPS, no other options.  As of right now, I have the Actiontec T3200 behind my R8000 and the TV works perfectly, but I am trying to get rid of the extra router.  With the Tomato Firmware, I see where I can add a script, but after extensively googling, I can't find how to do it.  Any Tips, scripts, or plans to add WPS capability?

Thanks,

Justin

Hi everybody. I am new to this and it can be plainy seen but the router I bought (D7800). I really would like firmware that works/can put a VPN on, but Ive heard there are errors on the current DDWRT that was released in late 2015. If anybody could tell me about it, or tell what I should do it would be most helpful :)

CM600 Issue - Can anyone help?

Good day,

I bought a second hand CM600 which has been locked to IPv6 provisioning. The stupid part is that this apparently "can't be reversed".

Now, my ISP has not rolled out IPv6, and can't/won't communicate any plans for v6.

My ISP kindly tried to assist, but were unable to roll back the MDD setting.

Apparently this setting is applied by ISP's (notably Comcast), which says to me there should be some way to reverse it.

I've opened the housing, and was wondering if anyone could assist me with setting up JTAG so I can poke around?

TIA

RS-485 Transmitters support 20Mbps, draw under 0.6mW

Exar's novel family of high-speed RS-485/RS-422 transmitters combine low power, high performance, small packaging and high ±15kV ESD protection.

The XR33193, XR33194 and XR33195 operate from a 3.3V supply and draw only 180µA (375µA maximum) of supply current.  All transmitters feature a shutdown mode that consumes less than 2µA whenever the transmitters are disabled.  The family is available in tiny 6-pin TSOT23 packages, ideal for high-speed point-to-point RS-485 applications where space is a concern.
The XR33193/94/95 occupy a 3x3mm footprint and feature 250kbps, 2.5Mbps and 20Mbps data rates. The XR33193 and XR33194 have slew-limited outputs for reduced EMI and error-free communication over long or improperly terminated data cables and multi-drop applications with unterminated stubs. The XR33195 features fast 25ns propagation delay and 5ns driver-output skew. All three RS-485 transmitters feature ±15kV ESD protection on the driver outputs and operate over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.  They also offer hot-swap glitch protection allowing live insertion without driving invalid data onto shared busses.

Hello,

As title indicates, have Fios 100/100 plan and would like to get a NetGear router (preferably with antennas) for around $80-$100.

Prefer new so that I can return, if needed.

Any suggestions?

Am looking at Netgear AC1750/R6400 for around $95.

Any pros/cons?

Thanks

So the class leader router...

is nowhere to be seen on any open source firmware providers??

It was on the open wrt site under the merge with LEDE compatibility as:

brcm63xx / generic /

but now i try to get it its not there  - where has it gone?

Anyone else got a provider?

Sucks because this netgear router also sucks for features on netgears firmware that doesnt update anymore.

Wireless Bridge Question!

$

Hello!

Apologies for this very basic question but I'm a bit new to all this. Here's my setup:

Upstairs, I have a LINKSYS WRT54G2 connected to my cable modem.

Downstairs computer connects directly to the Linksys in order to access the internet and my network. This works just fine.

Also downstairs, I've set up a WRT54GL with Tomato v1.25 as a wireless bridge (matching its information with the Linksys upstairs). Wired to the WRT54GL is my Xbox. The Xbox is properly assigned an ip, I can see it as one of the clients on my WRT54G2 (although the device name is blank), and it is able to connect to the internet just fine.

However, my computer cannot ping my Xbox and my Xbox cannot see my computer. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit.

I can't help but think that there's some basic setting I'm missing on one of the two routers. Any suggestions would be hugelyappreciated.

Thanks in advance!

R8000P-Anyone Developing?

Is anyone developing for the R8000P? I have gotten looped into one of the manufacturer's forums on it, and it seems people are plagued with speed reductions (something i had on the R8000 prior to using tomato advaced) and having to reboot everytime they connect a dev. I wish the manufacturer would cowboy up and fix it, but i feel for the consumers, especially having been through the "tech support" process to no avail myself.

find -mmin

When trying to use find, there is no -mmin option to allow for minute based selection although there is the -mtime which allows for the day variant.

busybox.net shows that the -mmin option is available. Is there a way to request the -mmin option be enabled in a future build?

I am currently using DD-WRT v3.0-r30925M kongat which has BusyBox v1.24.2.

Moving from FVS318 firewalls to something with DD-WRT

Greetings. I am new to this forum but not new to open source firewalls. Mostly IPFire and PFSense.

I have had most of my small clients on Netgear FVS318 firewalls for years and they have held up very well. I used them for VPN, VLans, etc. I need to obviously use something newer as Netgear is moving away from them. I have been looking at the Netgear R6700 and the R7800s and install DD-WRT for more functionality.

I would like to hear from the forum to get your ideas about what is best for a 5-10 user office with a need for 2-3 VPNs (Laptop to Router) and a separate configurable guest wireless network.

What say ye?

Thanks in advance.

Tom

Best dd-wrt ready router with good range?

$

I currently have a Netgear 7000 running dd-wrt kong. It's great! Thank you open source developers!

But I now need it to reach into the garage area of my building, to connect to a security camera. It doesn't really have the range.

Does anyone have suggestions for a good longer-range router? I don't need speed, but I do need range. It seems like a lower frequency router would be an advantage. Any suggestions?

Thanks
